Gleason Bauer

As someone from a working class background, I have never, ever been able to afford to be an intern or take these types of sub-wage jobs. It burns me to this day to see these types of positions advertised as I know that the middle class and owning class students I had the privilege to attend college with will get these “jobs” and then that experience will translate into the necessary resume to get the next position. After 35 years in this field, seeing the same thing happening to my younger colleagues, continues to sicken me as I have enough experience with not being able to take advantage of being taken advantage of to know how one’s career stalls and proceeds slowly without this type of industry-accepted abuse of workers. Make the change. Be the change.
